Instructions

Choose comparison category and vendors

Start with the category preset that matches your buying decision, then select three vendors to compare. Keep vendor choice in the same category to avoid apples-to-oranges scoring.

Score each criterion from 1 to 10

Use 10 for strongest fit and 1 for weakest fit against your current requirements. Score based on your situation, not vendor marketing claims.

Interpret output before deciding

Use weighted score for fit, risk output for implementation caution, and confidence output for whether to decide now or run a pilot.

How to interpret

Weighted vendor scores

Scores are normalized to a 0 to 100 scale so comparisons are easier to read. A higher score indicates stronger fit for your weighted criteria.

Highest-risk vendor

Risk emphasizes weak implementation, security, and support signals. Even high-fit vendors can be risky if operational controls are weak.

Decision confidence

Confidence is based on the gap between first and second place. Small gaps suggest a pilot is safer than immediate commitment.

Recommended next step

This output combines fit and confidence into a practical action: decide now, validate assumptions, or run a pilot between top candidates.

Score Sensitivity

The highest-impact criteria are those with both high weight and large spread between vendors. Use these as your diligence focus in demos and trials.
